2025 Measures Report: Measuring What Matters in Prehospital Trauma
The "2025 Measures Report: Measuring What Matters in Prehospital Trauma" is NEMSQA's second Annual Measures Report. The report produced by the Measure Analysis and Research committee expands national insights into prehospital quality and performance for trauma care. This year’s report includes four NEMSQA measures related to trauma and TBI assessment as well as system measures related to triage and transport to a trauma center and pre-arrival trauma notification using the 2024 national research dataset submitted through the National EMS Information System (NEMSIS). The report also provides the frequency of performance of HALO (high-acuity, low occurrence) interventions, highlighting the central theme of this year's report- trauma care isn’t about rare heroics—it’s about consistent execution of the basics.The measures selected by the committee included four NEMSQA trauma measures:
